THE Witta Wompoos went to battle on Sunday 21st against Gympie silver at our homeground.
Conditions were perfect and the standard of tennis was very high. The Wompoos prevailed on the day 8 sets to 4. The team was
Sean, Mal, Glenn, Hayden, Paula and Cindy.
Special thanks to Cindy for filling in and also Jim for playing at the last minute even if it was for the opposition.
Witta Whistlers came in 3rd position at the end of the Autumn Season in Division 1 of the Friday Ladies Tennis Competition. Last week we played the number 2 team, Palmwoods Allsorts in the Semi-final. Despite best efforts from Witta, Palmwoods won on the day. 7 sets to 1, 45 games to 25. Kym, Brenda, Donna and Charlotte played well against a really strong opposition. A great day of tennis. Now we have a few weeks off until the Spring season commences in late July.
