A 29-year-old Morayfield man is in custody following the death of a woman in her 20s in Caboolture last night.
Emergency services were called to a Short Street home around 8:30pm after reports of an assault on a woman, who was found with stab wounds.
The woman was transported to the Caboolture Hospital in a critical condition, where she died from her injuries.
The Morayfield man was then found driving a Holden Commodore several hours after the assault on the Bruce Highway, when police deployed a tyre deflation device to stop him.
This was successful, however, caused the Commodore to allegedly crash into a police vehicle, resulting in the 29-year-old man and two police officers to be transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The man and woman were allegedly known to each other, and the incident is being treated as a homicide by police.
Police appeal to anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage in the vicinity of Short Street last night to come forward.
Anyone with information or footage in relation to the traffic crash is also asked to contact police.
Investigations remain ongoing.
