On Friday, March 14, the COTR hosted this year’s World Day of Prayer service—one week late due to ex-cyclone Alfred—but enthusiasm wasn’t daunted, and around 90 people attended.
Seven local churches participated, and Pastor Aaron Jackson delivered a thought-provoking address which linked into the theme, “I made you wonderful!”
The country of focus was the Cook Islands, and the service was assembled by the Cook Islands World Day of Prayer committee. This service, held worldwide, was enjoyed by all who attended.
The church displayed a delightful tropical atmosphere, and all enjoyed fellowship after the service over a delicious morning tea.
The offertory resulted in $903.70, with an extra $300 being donated by COTR, making a wonderful total of $1,203.70 raised for the World Day of Prayer Cook Islands project.
