A VALIANT effort by both the reserve and A-grade Bulldogs teams was not enough to secure victory in their respective grand finals on the weekend.
The reserves lost 24-4 to the Coolum Colts before the A-Grade team lost 26-18 to the Maroochydore Swans.
The Swans said the Doggies were one of the most physical sides they played this season, while Bulldogs captain Daniel Kidd said the Swans were the benchmark team for the season.
It was a heartbreaking loss for the A-Grade team which was leading with only 10 minutes to go.
“This club has got to get some luck sometime soon,” Daniel said.

Maroochydore scored the first two tries of the game within 20 minutes, however Beerwah second rower Kai Busiko crashed through in response soon after.
The Swans put on one more in the dying seconds of the first half but the Doggies came out stronger after the break and took the lead with tries to Mitch Jennings and Blake Hill.
Their lead was short lived though, with the Swans breaking through the defence, scoring two tries to secure the grand final win, 26-18.
For the reserve grade grand final, the Colts and Bulldogs traded the opening tries of the game, but that was the only time the Doggies troubled the scorer.
The Colts scored three unanswered tries in the second half, with the final score 24-4.
It was a great effort by both teams to made it to the grand final, and although they didn’t come away with the result they wanted, the Bulldogs fan base were cheering them on until the very end.
Congratulations to the club!
