PLAYERS from the Beerwah-based Sunshine Coast Goannas are still glowing after the success of the Indigenous Festival of Football.
At least 2,000 fans descended on Sunshine Coast Stadium to watch two exciting games.
In the women’s match, the Australian Indigenous Koalas played out a pulsating 1-1 draw with the Sunshine Coast Wanderers.
While the men’s Australian Indigenousroos defeated the Sunshine Coast All-Stars 1-0.
Goannas president Wayne Alberts said it was a fantastic event that provided great exposure to the players and teams.
“Everything was professionally done and it was a great experience for our players,” Wayne said.
“Josiah Green was extraordinary in the men’s game and Ellyse Lynch was awesome and walked away as player of the match.”
