Forest bathing in Maleny reserve

As Friends of Mary Cairncross, we hold events each quarter that are of interest to the many people who love the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve. Our May event is “What is Forest Bathing: Strengthening our Connection with nature” with Jay Ridgewell. This is being offered with a view to exploring why people visit Mary Cairncross Reserve – what brings them to the forest? Saturday 18 May 9:30am at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve – Morning Tea included.
This will be an immersive experience with a taster of forest bathing.
Jay is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide. She facilitates relational nature therapy experiences, informed by the practice of Shinrin Yoku (Japanese ‘forest bathing’).
Her website provides more information Held Outside – she has a scientific background and is engaging, informed, easy to connect with, and will give us a whole new perspective to our walks in nature.
We can all benefit from the therapy nature offers but sometimes we don’t know how or where to start.
This is an opportunity to hear how, together with the physiological and psychological benefits of nature, connection.
