Ladies afternoon tea fundraiser

MALENY State High School’s Chaplaincy program is running their very first ‘Ladies Afternoon Tea’ event on Thursday, May 9, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
This will be one of the main fundraisers for the school’s chaplaincy service for this year.
During the afternoon event, attendees will make special craft ‘explosion boxes’ – which are currently trending on social media.
Ladies can enjoy yummy afternoon tea and treats while they keep busy with the fun and crafty creative activity.
Maleny State High School Chaplain, Donna Turner, said the craft creations were a lot of fun to make, and very exciting for whoever gets to open the box once completed.
“They make great gifts, and basically the recipient removes the lid and the whole box opens up to reveal amazing designs, colours and whatever yummy treat that is placed inside!” she said.
Tickets are $60 for two people to build a craft ‘explosion box’ together, but if people want to build one each, they can purchase an additional kit for $20 cash on the day.
There will also be an awesome lucky door prize donated by ‘Daisychain Scrapbooking Nambour’ and two lucky seat prizes – $20 Coffee Club vouchers.
Chaplaincy funds support resources for student and initiatives such as the school’s breakfast club which currently feeds around 100 students a week, emergency lunches for students, and emergency hampers for families in need.

The event will be held in the Maleny High Waroo Building, 50 Bunya Street Maleny.
