THE Beerwah Lions held their changeover meeting in early July and welcomed new president, Rod Layet, to the helm. The Lions have had a very active year despite Covid and weather impinging on some events.
They have raised considerable funds for a number of organisations and schools.
Some $7000 was raised for committees and organisations including the Beerwah State High School chaplaincy fund along with state school P&Cs at Beerwah, Landsborough, Glasshouse and Peachester. They also raised another $5000 for other Lions groups including Lions Club International Foundation, Lions Youth Insearch as well as the Australian Childhood Cancer Research Foundation.
