Rural Firey open day

Maleny Rural Fire Brigade invites the public to an open day 11-1pm on Sunday November 19th at the Emergency Services Station at 2 Dixon St Maleny.
We are keen to talk to new prospective volunteers for the Brigade, and to talk to members of the public about what they can do to best protect their homes and properties in this very difficult fire season for Queensland and elsewhere in Australia.
Senior members of the Brigade will be available at the station on Sunday to discuss all aspects of fire protection and safety and fire management for your property.
We’d especially love to meet with any prospective new volunteers who would like to join our Brigade.
We take pride in having a friendly, diverse, well-trained brigade with men and women from a wide range of backgrounds and ages.
The Rural Brigade is of course voluntary, but all training and equipment is provided.
So far this year, volunteer fireys from Maleny have done many multi-day deployments to far-north Queensland, Bundaberg, and the very severe fires in the south-west around Tara, Carnarvon and other districts.
As well as working with our close neighbour’s Landsborough Rural Brigade, and other Hinterland rural and auxiliary brigades, responding to the fires in recent weeks at Glasshouse Mountains, Beerwah, Landsborough and Witta.
