THE Maleny P&C has received a generous $2000 donation from Maleny Realty through the business’s Maleny Market on the Green stall fees of $20.
The markets are held on the Maleny IGA’s spare parcel of land next door to Maleny Realty and IGA every 2nd Saturday and every 4th Thursday of the month.
Maleny State School P&C president, Zoltan Bourne, said they are very grateful for the donation, and it will be spent at the Maleny OSHC centre, which opened on July 26, 2022.
“There is an incredibly innovative piece of furniture that’s a modular couch system that can be used and converted into cubbies,” he said.
“This is important for children who need quiet time and the feeling that they need to feel cocooned.
“It’s a perfect opportunity for them to emotionally regulate.
“We care for many high-needs and special-needs children, and we have a 5 per cent rate of First Nations children, and a lot of them have faced difficult experiences.”
