The Beerwah Bulldogs A Grade men’s team beat the Gympie Devils 48-18, at Beerwah Sportsground on June 4, piling on nine tries in a formidable display.
It is the most points the team has scored in a game this season, with three tries in the first half before they turned up the heat with six tries in the second.
Centre Nic Jennings scored a double in the second half and Connah Mills scored the first and last try of the game for the Bulldogs.
Sam Humphreys also secured a try, as well as Daemon Cruise, who scored a total of 30 points between this game and the reserve grade game as he was asked to fill in for the A grade at short notice.
A Grade coach Brett Hill he spoke about the big win right after the game saying the team had been edging towards a strong victory.
“It’s good, we have been building towards it,” he said,
“Actually it was a good result because we had a couple players pull out this morning so it’s a really good effort and I’m proud of everybody.”
The Beerwah Bulldogs open women’s team also secured their biggest win of the season against the Gympie Devil’s, beating them 30-10 after not playing for four weeks.
