Camping available for Festival goers

By Sasha Scullion

BEERWAH sportsground will be open for camping for the first time since the Sunshine Coast Council took over management of the grounds, with the site to open exclusively for this month’s Festuri Hinterland festival.

The decision to allow camping will allow festival goers the opportunity to enjoy a full day of multicultural activities and remain in the Hinterland. Festuri will run 10am-6pm Saturday, October 21, with the hinterland festival set to follow the success of the Cotton Tree event.

Organisers hope to showcase the multicultural diversity of our region and cultivate a sense of community and connection.

A passport won’t be necessary for the inter-continental day trip, with the vibrant family-friendly festival boasting an itinerary stacked with traditional dance, art, live music, interactive workshops, and delicious cuisines from around the globe. From powerhouse Māori haka performances to Indonesian martial arts demonstrations, the program is packed!

Tickets for both powered and unpowered camping start at $16, and a bar will be open at the Beerwah Bulldogs clubhouse for anyone wanting to keep the celebrations going.
