Chappy Outdoor Adventure Day 2022 a success

The Maleny State High School fundraising day for chaplaincy was conducted recently. The sporadic showers did not spoil the enjoyment for a small group of horse riders who were led on a two-hour ride through the Crohamhurst Forest.

The event was organised mainly by Chaplaincy committee secretary Christine Bourne, who is also an energetic member of the Sunny Coast Trail Riding Association. Originally, it was hoped that the day would include an orienteering activity as well as mountain biking, but it was decided to go ahead with just the horse ride.

Donna Turner, Chaplain at Maleny High School, thanked the committee, the volunteers at the event as well as the community for its support with raffle prizes and other donations.

Specific thanks were given to Maleny Veterinary Services, Maleny Star Discount Chemist, Maleny Co-op, Lights of Eden, Sweets on Maple, Maleny Hardware and Rural Supplies and Nellie’s Creative Hair Designs.

There are more donations pending from other businesses and these will be added to the prize list for an additional raffle, to be drawn later this year.
