IF YOU have a budding young hinterland artist aged 2-12 years in your life, imagine how cool it would be for them to see their artwork painted on a car used around Maleny and surrounding areas.
Juan Perez, owner of Maleny Accident Repair Centre, is running a unique colouring in competition for local children where the winner receives $200 and gets to have their own design painted on a Mazda SP23.
The competition runs until Saturday, July 31, and hinterland-based children are encouraged to either use the entry form below or download a copy from the Maleny Accident Repair Centre’s Facebook page.
Juan is running the local competition to raise community awareness of his business while also encouraging local children to be involved.
A keen supporter of the Maleny Rangers mini roos squad and coach to the under 10 side, since moving to Witta with his family nearly seven years ago Juan has remained passionate about supporting kids around the hinterland area in whatever way he can.
“I thought the car design competition would be a great idea. Originally, I bought the car to do up to sell but then thought it would make a great local competition for the kids,” Juan said.
“Once it’s completed, I’ll either auction it off to support a local kids-related charity or keep it as our business courtesy car – either way, it’ll be a real buzz for the young winning artist to see their work being driven around the hinterland.”
The winning entry and two runners up will be judged by local artist Vanessa Perske. For more details see
