A long running local historical society has been nominated as a finalist in the 2023 Fisher Community Awards. Peachester History Committee (PHC), along with Sconetime by Sunshine Coast Foodie, has made the Seniors Group of the Year shortlist. As well as providing a wealth of knowledge about the local history of the area, the group also manages and maintains several community history initiatives, including the Peachester Heritage Centre, and provide numerous talks and displays on all aspects of local historical interest. Established in 1998, PHC recently celebrated their 25th anniversary.
2023 will mark the sixth year of the community awards, championed by Federal member for Fisher, Andrew Wallace. Winners will be announced at the Caloundra Power Boat Club on Wednesday November 22, with winners receiving a medallion and a gift to mark their achievement.
