Step into the enchanting world of Baroque music at Eudlo Hall on Saturday, April 20.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the captivating sounds of Rameau, Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, Caldara, and Purcell as Arioso Chamber Ensemble commemorates a remarkable decade of musical brilliance.
The Eudlo performance heralds their 10th anniversary concert series: Arioso 10. Featuring outstanding performances by Judit Molnár (soprano), Margaret Caley (baroque violin), Shannon Scheltema (viola da gamba) and Janet Brewer (harpsichord) this special event will leave audiences entralled and delighted.
Judit Molnár (soprano), will perform a selection of beautiful works including the cantata ‘Rotte L’Aspre Catene’ by Italian composer Antonio Caldara, Vivaldi’s ‘Mentre Dormi’, and Purcell’s moving ‘Dido’s Lament’. Rameau, Marais and Morel will be brought to life in instrumental dances and pieces by Margaret Caley (baroque violin), Shannon Scheltema (viola da gamba) and Janet Brewer (harpsichord).
Arioso Chamber Ensemble brings together the talents and experience of leading specialists in Baroque performance.
Formed in January 2014 for the “Music by the Sea” Festival, they have since performed at many festivals and concert series. Their extensive repertoire features well known Baroque favourites as well as lesser-known gems, many of which are included on their recent CD “Pearls”.
The group aims to present high quality engaging performances and workshops with an emphasis on historically informed practice.
