Gary Madders Champion School goes to…

THE Queensland Secondary All School touch championships took place on the 31st of July, which saw roughly 1,000 kids battle it out for the win.

The Glasshouse Mountains Sports complex was taken over by high school touch players competing for over eight hours, on 16 fields.

The annual event was hosted by Sunshine Coast Touch Association (SCFBDTA) in conjunction with the Glasshouse Mountains Touch Association, with volunteer help from the Glasshouse Mountains Touch Association’s social comp team players.

There were two Sunshine Coast teams who played particularly well in the championships – Unity College and Chancellor State College.

Unity College won the Under 13’s Boys division, whereas Chancellor won the Under 15’s boys and Under 18’s girls and boys divisions.

At the end of the day though, there could only be one winner, and the winner of the Gary Madders Champion School title was Chancellor State High School, for their wins in three divisions.
