Glasshouse Country Chamber of Commerce update

With Jenny Broderick, President

It’s hard to believe we’re already in March! It has been a rough start to the year, with Covid restrictions, floods and storms, and our Glasshouse Country Chamber is here to support our businesses wherever we can.

If your business has been affected by the recent weather events, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask for help. There are several grants available now and you can access the links for these on our website, under ‘Disaster Support’.

A significant focus of our Chamber currently is the Sunshine Coast Council consultation for the new Planning Scheme.

This is an important opportunity for you to ‘Have your say’ regarding the future of our Glasshouse Country.

Our Chamber has organised to meet with Council’s Manager of Strategic Planning and the Coordinator for the Planning Scheme this coming Thursday 13th March. All members will receive an invitation via email. This will be a great opportunity for us to ask the important questions.

We would encourage as many of our businesses from all industries, to join in this meeting with us.

Following this meeting, we will work to provide a submission to Council on behalf of our businesses. We hope you can join us.

Get your calendar ready! We are excited about our next planned events, including; a Thank You Celebration for Lea and Brownie, April Coffee Catch up, Business After hours with special guests, Business Month Breakfast in May with guest speakers … and more.

Stay up to date by becoming a member, and following us on social media.

When you become a member, your membership is valid for a full 12 months, no matter what time of year you join. We would love to have you join us!
