Countdown is on to garden expo

ARE you heading along to the Queensland Garden Expo this weekend?

This horticultural extravaganza has something for everyone and after a couple years of COVID disruptions, Queensland’s premier garden expo is back!

The three day event kicks off this Friday July 8 and runs until Sunday July 10 at the Nambour Showgrounds. Showcasing one of the biggest range of plants you’re likely to see anywhere in Queensland, along with workshops, displays and presentations by some of the country’s leading gardening experts, the expo attracts visitors from all across Australia.

There are dozens of commercial nurseries and plant growers setting up stalls, and the nursery experts will be more than happy share with you the best way to care for your plants once you get them home.

If you love honey, and love supporting local hinterland businesses, make sure you drop in to see Hum Honey (they’ll be in the Giant Kitchen Garden, site KG8). They’re even giving away a free jar of creamed vanilla bean honey to anyone who brings along a copy of this fortnight’s edition of GC&M News (while stocks last).

While you’re there, make sure to check out the boutique family-owned Red Fox Orchids, specialising in orchids, bromeliads and foliage plants; they’ll be at site 295.

Grab your tickets to what should be a fantastic event for garden lovers at the Nambour Showgrounds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

See their website for details and don’t forget your copy of GC&M News!
