Upgrades to Witta’s tower

TELSTRA is advising Witta residents to expect delays in their mobile coverage from January 29 to February 11 as the telco is adding infrastructure to the town’s mobile base station to improve connectivity.
Scheduled works will temporarily impact mobile coverage for all Telstra customers in the area during daylight hours. Landline services, NBN, and mobile coverage from other providers will not be affected, and 000 calls, when the Telstra site is offline, will be diverted to any working mobile network to connect the call.
Telstra’s acting regional general manager, Scott Mullaly, said crews need to work during daylight hours for safety reasons, but they will only switch off the site when necessary and will turn it back on as soon as possible. Telstra said the infrastructure upgrade will bring better 4G mobile coverage and introduce 5G mobile coverage to the community.
